New Activity!

The Wayside Crafters had their first meeting on June 19th. Current Secretary Sue Mongeon is heading up this club temporarily with the hope that another resident will be happy to take over. We discussed the types of crafts that each of us has practiced, what classes we each might feel confident teaching to community residents, and also how we might turn these skills into sellable items for the October 3rd Yard Sale date at which Wayside will have, among other tables, gift worthy items suitable for the fall and Christmas holiday shopping.

If this interests you, please reach out to Sue Mongeon at (978)235-8955 to learn more about this club. We will have our next meeting in July, the exact day to be announced. Bring your love and talent of your favorite craft. We look forward to hearing about it!

Community Park Clean-up began on May 16th when a few of our residents gathered to tidy up the place. The focus for this day was the parking lot border near the laundry building and the areas of the hill that our lawn maintenance company is not paid to handle.

Please Note: hiring the Landscape Company for just the basic maintenance is one of the ways that we keep our lot fees low. Your help in keeping our park clean will always be appreciated!

You might also have noticed that some of our men scaled down the remains of that fallen tree quite a bit.

And we’re still raising funds!

Craft Fair Fund Raiser in the Fall

The `1st Saturday in October is Shirley’s next town wide yard sale, and we will sign on to that one, also.

A few ways that our residents can help with that?

  1. Some of the women are planning to do some Handcraft Tables. If you sew, crochet, knit, make greetings cards, embroider or do art work of any kind, consider joining the Wayside Crafters to plan for this fundraiser. We’ll be forming a Crafting Club soon, too! You can Call or Email Sue Mongeon (978)235-8955 and suemongeon6371@gmail.com to let us know how you can participate. We’re currently planning decorated containers for Christmas cookie & candy giving, Quilted table runners & potholders, Halloween candy baskets & buckets, and Thanksgiving tabletop decorations.

  2. Bake Sale Goodies - the baked goods did quite well at the May Yard Sale tables and we’ll do that again, so plan to fire up your ovens and bake up your favorite things - brownies, cookies, cupcakes, breads, or candies. We’ll help you know how to package them for fast, safe and easy sales. Interested in being on the Bake Sale Committee! Call or email - (978)235-8955 or suemongeon6371@gmail.com.

  3. We’d like to have a Raffle Table at the October event, so if this is your thing, Contact Us! Maybe a quilt, a gift basket, or even something that isn’t handmade could be raffled off. Maybe you have just that donation!
